Kroger: General Mills Promo Trip (Saved $93.76)

Whew! Navigating the General Mills sale at our Kroger store was no easy task! They had skids of cereal, granola bars, and fruit snacks covering about half of the entryway of the store. I thought I’d get a jump start on my shopping in that area, but it was a little difficult to match products with the correct prices. I’m glad they had this overflow area though, as some of the products I wanted were gone from the store shelves.

I found it much easier to go down the cereal aisle and check shelf tags against product boxes. In fact, I found a few items that weren’t on the original General Mills Sale Flyer. Here’s what we ended up with today.

It’s hard to tell just by looking at the picture, but most of the cereals you see are GIANT boxes. They don’t even fit in our cereal cupboard, so they have to live on top of the fridge one at a time. Drives me crazy, but I can’t pass it up at this price!

I ended up spending $28.77 on this trip, including the non-General Mills items you see on the table. My receipt shows a savings of $93.76 (76%). I had free product coupons for the Ritz Crackerfuls and the Nature Valley granola bars. The bread mini-loaf was only $.39, and Emma thought we should have it with our dinner. I’m guessing that she just thought that bread that small was cute.

I used a combination of store coupons, printable coupons, newspaper insert coupons, and e-coupons. You can find some of the links for this specific sale on my earlier post (HERE).  You can also use the Saving & Giving Coupon Database to find other coupons you might be interested in.  Coupons.com and SmartSourceboth have some excellent printables to make these products cheaper.

This sale goes through Sunday (8/8), so you still have some time to run out and grab a few of these goodies!

I usually don’t do the whole “LOL” thing, but know that I was honestly laughing out loud when I read your comment. It took me a second…. I thought to myself “Well, we’ll only use about a gallon between now and the time I go back to the store at the end of next week. I wonder why she said it wouldn’t be enough.” DUH! It’s going to take us a LONG time to eat that much cereal, so I’m sure I’ll be buying LOTS of milk for it! :) You crack me up, Andrea!
