Kroger Shopping: The Two-Week Trip {Ouch!}

I didn’t go to the grocery store at all last week, and I paid for it this week… literally! Here’s this week’s Kroger shopping trip.

Fortunately there were a few decent deals at Kroger this week. Unfortunately I still spent $130. But for two weeks, I guess that’s not too shabby. Here are some of the best deals that I picked up.

Hunt’s Pasta Sauce – $.99
Get $.25 back at checkout
Final Price: $.74 each

Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta – $1.25
Get $.25 back at checkout
Final Price: $1.00 each

I found these English muffins on a Manager’s Special for $.59 each. They were perfect for the English Muffin Pizzas and breakfast sandwiches that were on this week’s menu.

Blackberries were on sale for $1 each (6 oz), so I picked up 6 of them. If we don’t eat them all this week, I’ll flash freeze the rest and use them in smoothies. Buying berries when they’re on sale and freezing them for later is a great way to save money! If you’ve never frozen berries before, read my Saving Money on Berries post to learn how to keep them from freezing together.

While we may not be willing to pay for all organic produce just yet, I do like to try to buy The Dirty Dozen (the 12 foods most contaminated with pesticides) organic if possible. I checked the price of the Organic Romaine and the regular, and there was about a $.50 difference between the two. That’s well worth it to me!

If you have Kroger shopping to do, check out all of this week’s Kroger deals before you go.
