How Saving & Giving Can Help:
This site is dedicated to sharing ways to spend less, save more, and give generously. Hopefully you can walk away with some shopping strategies, recipes, ideas for generosity, or just a bit of encouragement each time you visit.
Each week you will find the latest deals at stores like CVS, Kroger, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Publix, and more. I also like to post other deals that I find online or at local stores.
If you’re brand new to the kind of shopping that I do, you might be interested in my Start Saving series. It walks you through the basics step-by-step.
If you want to keep up with all the latest deals and tips, you can subscribe to my RSS feed or get a daily summary of my posts delivered right to your email inbox.

I am Jennifer, host of Saving and Giving. I am the wife of a wonderful man and mom to a beautiful six-year-old daughter. We are learning to honor God with our finances as we make the most of every dollar that He’s given us. And I’m honored that you’ve decided to come along for the journey!
My saving epiphany happened at Walmart in 2007. I was in line behind a lady who took her total bill from $100 down to about $30 just by using coupons. As I stood there staring at the 25¢ off coupon in my hand and a cart full of groceries, I wondered how in the world she had done that! (Of course, I’m too much an introvert to just ask her!) I headed home and started researching online. I stumbled upon a couple of frugal blogs, learned how to play the couponing game, and started saving my family a LOT of money.
Fast forward to today…. I’m still using coupons, but now I’m using them to buy products when they’re on sale at rock-bottom prices. We have a nice little stockpile of personal care and pantry items. We’ve been able to slash our grocery budget in half (sometimes even more than half!), and we have taken what we’ve learned about grocery shopping and applied it to other areas of life. We now watch for deep discounts on everything from gift items to clothing to cars.
The best part about learning to save money has been increasing our ability to give. I’m often able to get products for free or almost-free. If we’re not able to use the items – or if we already have enough of whatever I get for free – we’re able to share those things with others. We often drop off bags of food and personal care items in our church’s food pantry collection bin. It’s a joy to be able to share with people who need these things, especially when we’re able to share without breaking the bank.
If all of this sounds interesting to you, stick around. By working together, we can help each other save money and give generously.
