Sharing Savings – 9/4 Edition

I only went to CVS this week… and that was last Saturday! It’s been a crazy week, but I guess we’ve saved money by just not going shopping. I spent all of $.98 plus tax out-of-pocket. That’s one way to save!

Your turn…

Here is your chance to share the best deals you personally found this week! You can include drugstore, grocery store, or online finds. Pictures are helpful but not necessary. The same goes for coupons. If you can add information on which coupons you used, that will help your fellow bargain-hunters. But it’s not necessary.

To be part of Sharing Savings, please do the following.

  1. Create a blog post about your savings. If you’re not a blogger, then leave your savings information in the comments section of this post. I want to hear from everyone!
  2. Leave a direct link to your savings post(s). Do not leave a link to your blog’s home page. Those will be deleted. If you have questions about how to create a direct link to your post, please email me at savingandgiving@gmail.com.
  3. Please note the store(s) you visited in your post. This will help others replicate your great deals!
  4. Remember…. Your post should be about specific deals that YOU got this week, not store deal listings.
  5. A link back to this post would be appreciated.

CVS Trip: Last Week + This Week = Big Savings

I just realized that I forgot to post my latest CVS trip for you. I did this week’s CVS shopping last Saturday. Our store switches over pricing for the new sale items around 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon, but you can still get the current week’s sales too. You’re basically shopping the sales for two weeks when you shop on Saturday afternoon. Here’s what I got:

What I Bought:
1 Finish Tabs – $2.99 (last week’s sale item)
4 Oral-B Toothbrushes – $11.96 (this week’s sale item)
2 M&Ms – $1.00

Coupons Used:
-$0.50/1 Finish Automatic Dishwasher Detergent printable coupon
- 2 B1G1 Oral-B Manual Toothbrush 8/15/2010 RP Insert
-$.50 off M&Ms coupon that Emma printed at the in-store coupon printer
-$7.99 ECBs from last week

Out-of-Pocket Cost: $.98 plus tax
ECBs Earned: $5.00 (Oral-B)

I may try to sneak into CVS again tomorrow afternoon to see if I can snag a few things from this week and few things from next week.

Whole Foods Deals – Week of 9/2

This week’s Whole Foods deals are brought to us by my friend Meagan from Frugal Fun and Fortune.

Whole Foods weekly specials can vary in both price and selection from store to store.  Be sure to check your local ad.  I do these match-ups based on the Whole Foods ad for Jacksonville, Florida.

Whole Foods Coupon Policy:  Many, but not all, stores allow you to stack 1 manufacturer and 1 store coupon per item.  I am assuming this when doing these coupon match-ups.  You’ll need to check with your local store.  (The Jacksonville location DOES allow this.)  Also, if you live in an area with an Earth Fare, some Whole Foods stores accept Earth Fare competitor coupons!  Again, check with your store.  Hope that helps!

There is yet another Whole Foods $10/$40 coupon for the month of September!  YAY!!!  Remember – you can find it in the Jax4Kids magazine.  This magazine has been found at many libraries, as well as in the front of Whole Foods.
